The Second Coming of the Lord will be Brighter than the Coming of the Sun

The sunrise is in similitude of the Second Coming of the Lord in great glory from the east, to Mount of Olives.

When the Lord Jesus Christ comes again for the second time his glory shall be like the sun:

“the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound” Isaiah 30:26.

“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings” [emphasis added, notice sun and not son], Malachi 4:2.

“When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory” Psalms 102:16.

“And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it” Isaiah 40:5.

“The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God” Isaiah 52:10.

“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works” Matthew 16:27.

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming” 2 Thessalonians 2:8.

When the Lord comes all humanity will see it. Symbolizing his coming from the heavens above the earth, the phrase ‘coming in the clouds’ was used:

“… tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven” Matthew 26:63-64.

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” Matthew 24:30.

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen” Revelation 1:7.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.

Jesus Christ will descend from heaven onto the Mount of Olives, and he will visit his Temple. All will witness the wounds in his hands and feet and acknowledge that he is the Messiah, the Christ, the Savior of the world.

“And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south” Zechariah 14:4.

“And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house [the temple] with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. … The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts” Haggai 2:7, 9.

“And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends” Zechariah 13:6.

“And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory…. And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.” Ezekiel 43:2, 4 (Ezekiel from chapter 40 onward is about the future temple).

There are great and marvelous events in the future of the earth. Only the wicked need be afraid. Those who believe in, and have faith in, Jesus Christ and are trying to do their best need not fear; but they look forward to that blessed day and say ‘come Lord Jesus, come!’

There was only one perfect person who ever lived and he knows we cannot be saved in the kingdom of heaven without him. So trust him, he knows and loves you. In Hebrew the word ‘repent’ means ‘to turn.’ As in change the direction you are headed and redirect yourself in the direction of God. Literally, turn towards him. Where you are along the path of righteousness does not matter. All that matters is that you are heading in the right direction. Jesus will meet you where you are. That reason alone is enough to love him. Still there are many, many more reasons to love and follow him.
